The Rapidgrip  fits the Rapidwinder Classic  - and Leica  M1, M2, M3, M4, M4-2, M4-P, M6, M6TTL, M7 and MP without the Rapidwinder. 

The Rapidgrip comes in  chrome, matte & glossy black  finish. The price for the matte black and chrome  Rapidgrip is  US$ 170. The glossy black Rapidgrip costs an additional $10.

The red Button on the Rapidgrip is a Softie ---Softies can be stored on the grip when not in use.

The Rapidgrip is an alternative to the TMP-Grip and Leica's plastic grip. It is considerably larger and allows the user to hold the camera by the grip alone. It is designed to be used with heavy lenses, Noctilux, Summilux 75 and the 90/2.

The Rapidgrip's height "inside" the base is 2 5/8" or 70mm. That is from the base of the Grip to the top of the back of the Grip. The total height is 2 7/8" from the edge of the base to the top of the Grip.

When it is mounted on a camera with the Rapidwinder it has 1" clearance from the top-plate to the top of the Rapidgrip and when on a camera without the Rapidwinder you have slightly more than a ¼" inch clearance. The finger grip surface is the 2 7/8" distance as the base of the Rapidgrip is smoothly contoured into the base of the grip.

The Rapidgrip does have a compartment for storing extra batteries for M6 TTL's, accessible from the bottom via a coin-slot screw and on the top of the grip there is a threaded hole for sticking a Softrelease when it is not in use.
